Could you tell us about “Merry Christmas My Friends”? What was the inspiration behind the song?
I wrote this song with my friends and fans in mind. As I continue to grow as an artist, I appreciate the support I have received and I wanted to give back to my community with a festive holiday song. “Merry Christmas My Friends” seemed like the perfect sentiment.
What line from “Merry Christmas My Friends” means the most to you?
“Hidden within those walls are some with nothing at all, please show them some kindness it’s easy to say” – While wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, please take a moment to appreciate what you have and be sensitive and kind to others and recognize that many are less fortunate or struggling this time of year. Many are hiding their heartache or sadness behind smiles and cheer. So a simple act of kindness could go a long way, not just at the holidays but all year round as well.
What was the experience like working on the video for “Merry Christmas My Friends”?
It was alot of fun especially working with the young singers. I enjoyed filming in the Christmas City which looks like a scene from a Hallmark card and seeing the smiles and joy in the faces of the children and families who were captivated by the filming. We all enjoyed being surrounded by lights and decorations and I loved including all my favorite things…music, Christmas and friendships old and new in a fun high quality production.
What advice would you offer to newer artists just starting out?
Don’t lose sight of why you started in the music business. Clearly define your goals and revisit them from time to time. Surround yourself with a great team. I offer consultations for anyone starting out. Please contact [email protected]
