1.) We’re very happy to be speaking today with acclaimed Brazilian Rocker Tatto Navarro; greetings and salutations, Tatto! Before we dive down the proverbial Q&A musical rabbit hole, how is the 2023 holiday season treating you?
Hello! The 2023 holidays have been wonderful, filled with special moments with family and moments of reflection. I took the opportunity to recharge my energy and connect even more with my spirituality.
2.) Major kudos and accolades on the freshly-minted new release of the second chapter in your EP collection, A Jornada do Herói II! Can you talk about what inspired this beautiful and rockin’ EP?
Thank you for the compliments! “A Jornada do Herói II” was a very significant project for me. When composing this EP, I sought to continue the concept started in the first one, maintaining the sound of the 80s, but exploring new aspects of life.
3.) How is A Jornada do Herói II similar to your first EP? How is it different?
“A Jornada do Herói II” is a natural extension of the first EP. Both share the same musical vibe, but the second chapter stands out for a deeper exploration of the sentimental and spiritual aspects of life.
4.) Who was your producer on A Jornada do Herói II, and what did the collaboration between artist and producer look like in the studio while recording it?
I was fortunate to work with an incredible producer, Carlos Zanin from the band Mr. Legacy on “A Jornada do Herói II.” The collaboration in the studio was fluid and inspiring, and together with my wife, who has been present in every production by offering valuable insights, we sought to capture the essence of each song authentically. Our goal was to maintain harmony between the rock sound and the spiritual messages present in the lyrics.
5.) A Jornada do Herói II covers some deep territory: Life, death, humanity, and a higher power. Was it complicated to transpose these very heady topics into six rousing rockers, or did it all flow easily? Transporting such profound themes into the rock universe was challenging but enriching. I believe that music is a powerful language to express complex emotions and reflections on life, death, and spirituality. The fusion of these elements resulted in an EP that I hope resonates deeply with listeners.
6.) Who inspires you musically?
My musical inspirations are diverse, but undoubtedly, artists who can convey emotion and depth in their compositions have a great impact on me. Names like Queen, Bon Jovi, Legião Urbana and other rock icons are present in some tracks, and are a part of this inspiring repertoire.
7.) While I have a more introspective and reclusive approach, having never ventured onto the stage for live performances, my focus has been on delivering work that listeners can enjoy on existing platforms. I’m striving to create an engaging experience, even without the spotlight, capturing the emotional and spiritual essence of “A Jornada do Herói II.”

8.) Regarding 2024, will we see an EP or LP release from you in the New Year? Are you already hard at work on even more incredible music?
Regarding 2024, I’m always working on new music. Although I can’t reveal details about future releases, I can say that I’ll continue exploring new sounds and messages in my work.
9.) You’re based out of the beautiful country of Brazil. How do those roots inform you as an artist and as a person?
Living in Brazil is a constant influence on my art and personal journey. The rich cultural and spiritual traditions of the country are reflected in my music, adding a unique layer to my artistic expression and worldview. 10.) Any final thoughts which you might like to share with our ever-inquisitive readers about your new masterpiece of an EP, A Jornada do Herói II?
