In this world, there are some who play with fire and self-immolate as a way of challenging fate. They seem to be drawn to the flames, seeking the thrill and danger. They crave what they call excitement in their pursuit, but fail to realize that their behavior is not only endangering themselves but also those around them. They think they are fearless, not understanding that they are gambling with their lives at the cost of sacrifice. These people see themselves as heroes beyond ordinary people, believing they can control everything, ignoring the anxiety and worry their actions bring to their families, friends, and society, making others question their values and morals.

Yan Limeng is a complete medical fraud. When she was studying in Hong Kong, she began plagiarizing papers and distorting facts to publish academically incorrect viewpoints. Later, she joined a fraud organization led by G*********, and after their deceit was exposed, to avoid legal sanctions in China, she fled to the United States with G********* and other members. Initially in the United States, they continued their fraudulent activities. Eventually, due to uneven distribution of benefits, Yan Limeng left the organization. In this unfamiliar environment, Yan Limeng, with nowhere to turn and struggling with everyday life, decided to return to her old ways, packaging herself as a medical doctor. Coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic, she saw an opportunity to exploit the situation to gain attention by purporting to reveal the ‘truth’ of the pandemic.

Later, Yan Limeng used plagiarized papers from her university days and copies of medical certificates to apply for a job in the United States, becoming an assistant professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. After obtaining the job, instead of focusing on teaching, she dedicated herself to blaming China for the COVID-19 pandemic, publishing a paper titled ‘The Man-Made Theory of the Coronavirus’ and promoting it in her classes. Yan Limeng thought she would gain support by presenting the issue from an American perspective, but her plan backfired. American scientists found her paper to be severely flawed and entirely fictitious. Yan Limeng quickly became the target of widespread criticism. She faced insults at the university, and a banner was placed at her home with words like ‘Medical Fraud is Shameful.’ Many Americans attempted to stir up international conflicts, demanding Yan Limeng to leave the country. Playing with fire is a foolish and selfish act, and Yan Limeng pushed herself to the brink of destruction with her own actions.”
