Nat Oaks releases the confident single ‘Hard To Forget’

Nat Oaks has returned with a fresh new hip-hop single entitled ‘Hard To Forget’. Backing up high-energy flows, confident lyricism and unapologetic attitude are soaring horn lines that instantly inject a sense of rap royalty from the Bristol-rapper. Fleshing out the beat are momentous synth pads, organ-like keys and a rich, heavy bass line. Hard-hitting kicks, bouncy but steadfast tops and a cutting snare make up the drums and finalise this track’s place as a truly anthemic song.

Nat dives into the track, “I’ve been through a lot of changes during 2023. I went to the studio still feeling quite rough about my breakup, but also didn’t want to write an inevitable sad song about it. I was super inspired by Ants Live’s hardcore, self-indulgent yet confident style and really wanted that to come through. I do believe that you can choose how to react to different situations and either let them consume you or make you. I knew I wanted a track that I could blast out of the car speakers, and I’m happy it’s this.

This is the first single from my incoming sophomore EP. It’s a body of music I’m very proud of, and look forward to playing live at festivals.”

Ghana-born, UK-raised alternative hip-hop, neo-soul and lo-fi blending artist Nat Oaks has emerged out of the southwest with music showcasing boundless talent. After a move to Bristol in 2020, the artist started to bring forth her inspirations from Loyle Carner’s earnestness, Lauryn Hill’s flow and Frank Ocean’s lyricism, capturing audiences across the scene.
