MYRY is a London-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer who has shown an ever-evolving musical ability to provide alternative perspectives on pop sensibilities. Raised between Belgium, Italy and the UK, she developed a unique vocal timbre, before moving to the capital to cultivate her passion for music and pursue a part-time role as a practising doctor.
The latest release from the alt-pop up-and-comer is the heavily electronic ‘The Shards’. Creating a track influenced by deep and progressive dance music, she dives into off-beat swirling synths, in-depth, twinkling soundscapes and hard-hitting, chest-thumping drums.
Vocally the artist comes into her own with ethereal and haunting performances, with a backdrop of counter-vocal melodies adding a ghostly layer. The angelic passion she brings across rises and falls throughout the track, completely captivating the audience.
MYRY shares, “I felt the pain of friends who had recently been heartbroken and admired their strength in getting back up and finding themselves again. The song is about the liberating feeling (though somewhat stained with melancholy) when you start to move on and pick up the pace of life again.”
