Employing the gorgeous piano playing of Sofia Silvestri, Kru has released an emotional new track ‘For You I Would’. Throughout the first verse, Kru’s vocals build into an expressive and belted chorus, before slowly backing down for the new section. Through a choir of vocal harmony, she provides an extra layer of poignance to the climax of the track, made even more momentous with the beautiful piano chords.
On the new single, Kru shares, “I really wanted to maintain the fact that this project has been written, produced, and performed by women. Bringing Sofia onto the project fulfilled that for me. Having written with her in the past and seen the way she plays the piano made me think she’d be perfect for the vibe for this song.
This song is about when you fall so in love with a person, all doubts, caution, and worries get thrown out. They are your everything. And all you can do is intensely profess that love while yearning for the same in return.”
Sofia Silvestri adds,
“It’s been such an honor to take part in the making of this record! Kru’s raw, piercing vocals elevate this record to a whole new level.”
Born in Mumbai and then raised in the Bay Area of California, Kru learnt to bring together her R&B and Pop sensibilities with her Indian musical influence. Trained in both opera and traditional Indian Bharathanatyam dance, she dives into her roots across her songwriting. This uniqueness has led to becoming a storming up-and-comer, whose debut EP amassed well over 1.5M streams after release in December 2022. Now looking ahead to her follow-up project, the future looks bright for Kru.
