Cork based singer-songwriter Sarah Hickey has begun to reveal the what a year spent honing your sound in the studio creates, a sound that is simply enchanting. Building a name for herself in venues across Ireland as both a solo and accompanying vocalist, Sarah continues to expand on her vision of music and art with each new release.
The releases continue with ‘Take A Minute’ a track that captures Sarah’s folk influenced roots and her ability to creating bewitchingly ethereal vocal lines. The soft rise and fall of the acoustic guitar creates a wistful passion in the track, while the sparse percussion leads on a lush soundscape of synths and pianos. By the end of the track, you are fully encompassed to the gentle swirl Sarah creates, left in a state of introspection and calm.
Speaking on the track, as well as the accompanying painting she uses as album artwork, Sarah shares, “My newest single is about taking time to be still while feeling overwhelmed and feeling like you’ve fallen behind.”
