Fast rising UK riff slingers, AKKADIAN, are set to break out with their formidable new EP, The Devil Has Evolved, out Friday 27th October. We exclusively spoke to the band and asked them to give us this track by track breakdown of the EP:
“SECOND SIGHT
Second Sight is a song about the beauty and darkness of the universe, and all of the energy of the higher dimensions that surrounds us.
It’s about everything the universe has given you and taken from you. It’s about channelling a frequency to access the powers of the universe for your own gain. But then living with the consequences that may follow for having accessed this power.
TEARDROP
Teardrop is a cover of the famous song by Massive Attack. We felt like it would be an interesting song to experiment with, as it leaves a lot of room and opportunities for artistic freedom. We didn’t want to be boxed in like a lot of other covers could do. We just had a lot of fun with it and we found a way to combine a bunch of our influences and mould it into one cohesive sound.

The Devil Has Evolved is a song about how The Devil has evolved into a higher dimension, beyond our realm, perception and frequency. Using space time to travel through the universe and torture its prey.
It’s about being a victim of this evolved inter-dimensional Devil, being pushed to your limits after you sold your soul to them and the other dark entities that dwell within the fabric of the universe.
It’s also about reaching out to people when you’re at your lowest, trying to find someone else who may also be fighting and struggling with these demons, and then coming together to set each other free from the torture.”
