The Many Sides of Kristina Menissov

Kristina Menissov has graced the covers of magazines all over the world and walked runways for numerous designers. Now, she is getting ready to release a new EP that will show a different side to this talented international star. Recently, she took time out of the studio to fill us in on her projects and her life so far.

1. Tell us what you are working on right now.

I am working on my EP that I will release in a month with award winning music producer and my co-writer Andrew Lane. I have a few songs already ready and those definitely show a different side of me, a side that I am learning to connect with and accept that side that I was denying for a long time. So, I can definitely say this EP will be almost therapeutic for me to accept my dark feminine energy.

2. You’ve performed live many times. What do you love the most about live performances?

The energy, connecting with my audience and feeling the freedom.

3. How do you prepare for live performances?

I take a lot of vocal classes and practice with my dancers to release the energy of excitement, that way I don’t get overwhelmed and feel 100% confident when taking that first step on a stage.

4. What’s the biggest hurdle you have ever faced in your life?

I feel like at this point the biggest hurdle for me is to be my own manager, I don’t like all this boring stuff it’s so much easier for me to just create. I am becoming too big to manage everything myself and I haven’t learned how to delegate yet. I believe once I figure that out no one will be able to stop me.

5. What is it you like most about being a musician?

That it combines and fulfills the needs of both extroverts and introverts at the same time. I love just being at the studio by myself and just sitting there and writing songs so I can recharge from the world. In the meantime, I love to perform and be around lots of people. Performing on the stage is almost like meditation for me.

6. Tell us about being Ms. Universe World International.

As you guys know my reign is over and I just passed the crown to the next incredible woman Ms. Universe World International Cassandra Wallace. Passing the crown was not just a beautiful ceremony, it is a symbol of a continuous journey. I am saying this right now with feelings of joy, sadness and at the same time with pride in my heart because me and Cassandra are a reminder for all the girls that dreams do come true. The night I was crowned a year ago, it validated all the many years of hard work, when I was questioning myself, but it wasn’t until I found peace and beauty inside that it radiated outside, only then I was able to achieve that beautiful crown.

7. Do you have any new projects you can talk about?

Well, there is my new EP coming out soon!  I just came back from NYFW (New York Fashion Week) where I also shot for a cover of a well-known magazine in Serbia that I am very excited about, so stay tuned and follow me on socials.
