Floral Image release captures double A-Side ‘Chance/Feel Around You’

Norwich-hailing psychedelia innovators Floral Image have a unique sound that’s been turning heads since their emergence in 2019. Championed by radio and press alike, the band have been touring relentlessly, selling out shows across the UK and Europe, as well as releasing their debut EP ‘So Synthesised’.

Floral Image continue to illuminate their world with infectious psychedelia with their latest double A-side release, ‘Chance/Feel Around You’. Evoking both the mystical and the familiar, the five-piece capture audiences with ethereal and vivid instrumentation, allowing the vocals to float in amongst the soundscape of guitars, synths, bass and drums. Whether they bring in spacious melodies or rocketing rhythms, the bands musicianship is on full show, showcasing talent and experience in abundance. The earworm melodies make their way deep into your ears, leaving you with a desire to return to the tracks long after first listen.

The band dive into the singles, “Being the sort of lads prone to long, spiralling, mesmeric sounds we approached Chance fresh as a five piece band with an opportunity to layer an ever-changing scope of melodious synchronicity over the top of a continuous and unrelenting rhythmic pound. The one repeating mantra of ‘Chance’ was the only lyrical choice to stay from its earliest incarnations as a roving and motorik piece. It’s only our undying love of the popular music format that made us think it to be necessary to plop some verses in there to tie it all together.

The song Feel Around You came from more lonesome origins in a solo demoing session where Jack was testing out his recently purchased 1970s Japanese bass. Jack alone in his cold box room on a wintery evening in his dressing gown, tipping the scales in favour of riff action as opposed to vocal content.”
