Jaw-Dropping Premiere Trailer Unveiled for Godzilla Television Series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”

We’ve been anxiously awaiting the official trailer for Apple TV+’s upcoming ongoing television series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters ever since the notion of an actual Godzilla TV series was first broached some time back. Speaking only for myself here, I’m a huge nerd of the highest order and have dearly loved the Godzilla franchise ever since the day when, at the tender age of 14, I picked up a VHS Goodtimes copy of King Kong vs. Godzilla. Talk about love at first sight – this had everything a teenage boy could possibly want in a movie! Two big and formidable creatures routinely misunderstood and attacked by society in a battle royale with one another? Sold American! So yeah, probably no big surprise that I’ve had this latest iteration of Japan’s most famous monster on my radar for quite some time now. Today finally marks the time when fans across the ever-lovin’ globe can catch their first real glimpse of what we’re in store for.

From our Destroy All Monsters advocates over at The Hollywood Reporter comes the welcome news that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has dropped its premiere trailer. Want to check it out? Of course you do, Dear and Constant Reader. Click right here at this handy-dandy link to see what all of the fuss is about and then meet me back down on the very next paragraph!

Now that you’re back, are you as excited as we are? For anyone that still hasn’t doped out what Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is about, we’ve got Apple TV+’s official synopsis right here: “Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”

The Godzilla property has taken on many forms over the years – anyone recall the 1970s Marvel comic book? – and this latest outing adds yet one more wrinkle to the franchise’s storied and glorious history.

Apple TV+’s ten epsiode Monarch: Legacy of Monsters officially premieres on November 17; Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
