Mouth Culture have been growing feverish anticipation around them, as they continue to gig across the UK and release music.
Mouth Culture recently released a new single, entitled ‘Don’t Pull Up’, drenched in attitude and momentum the track. The groups punky energy is shining here, with catchy riffs bringing just enough modern indie-rock to make this a track for everyone. Whether it’s the crunchy chords or twinkling arpeggios, the electric guitars never fail to entice you, helped along by some driving drums and a gritty, groovy bass. The vocals cry out over the noise, bringing all the frustrated melancholy and emotion you could hope to hear, truly bringing the stadium filling atmosphere that you find in their live performances.
The band explains, “Don’t Pull Up is a straightforward head-bop anthem, saturated with attitude. The verses carry mischievous energy through a chest-punching bassline and provocative vocals, as the chorus explodes into a seismic release of soaring guitars with an electrifying presence.
The song was written in an evening of heightened emotion following the abrupt and unexpected departure of one of our band members. In the midst of the chaos, the looming question of ‘what now?’ injected passion and authenticity into the track, cementing the message as well as the connection between us – that no matter the hurdle, we can still write music that sonically and lyrically represents us.”
