1.) We’re extremely happy to be speaking today with acclaimed Seattle-based rock ‘n’ roll band Moon Fever; greetings and salutations, gang! Before we dive into the proverbial Q&A mosh-pit, could you all say ‘hi’ and introduce yourselves to our ever-inquisitive readers?
MITCH: Greetings, thanks for having us, I play guitar.
DAVE: I play bass.
TROY: I play drums.
TRISTON: And I sing!
2.) Major kudos on the recently released single Getting Loud! Triston, what’s the story behind this rousing tune and what made it the perfect choice as a single release?
TRISTON: we all go through things, be it mental or emotional problems, this song is an anthem for your health.
3.) Mitch, how is Getting Loud similar to some of the past music from Moon Fever such as I’m Gone? How is it different?
MITCH: well they are both in drop D… but they have similar energy. Hard hitting angsty rock!
4.) Dave, what differentiates Getting Loud from the Distinguished Competition on the 2023 music scene?
DAVE: It’s its own thing that stands up alone. Bringing real magic to life.
5.) Troy, who was the producer on Getting Loud and what did the collaboration between band and producer look like in the studio?
TROY: Jim Kaufman produced the track, and we always collaborate in the studio. He came up with the harmony on the chorus.
6.) Triston, word ‘round industry campfire has it that Moon Fever has a possible EP or LP forthcoming for listening audiences! Can you give us a hint or three as to what we can look forward to with this upcoming release?
TRISTON: we don’t tell secrets here… expect some new stuff later this year and throughout 2024
7.) A question for all of you: Who inspires you musically?
BAND: Queens of the Stone Age.
8.) Mitch, what does the touring/performing dance card look like for Moon Fever in the coming weeks and months? Are you guys pretty booked out at the moment?
MITCH: Currently, we’re doing the WJJO Taste of Madison pre-party with Finger 11 on September 1st, and then we have a show with Buckcherry on the 5th of September in Missouri, but there’s more stuff in the works and I’m sure we’ll be in your home town soon enough
9.) Dave, how did Moon Fever come together as the incredibly tight band that we hear on the new single? Is there a VH1-Behind the Music secret origin story you could share with readers?
DAVE: Here’s a great story, once we joined Moon Fever, we had a handful of rehearsals and then opened for Godsmack on our 4th live performance for 40k people in Las Vegas. We hardly knew each other but destroyed that stage.
10.) Triston, you come to Seattle via Green Bay, WI and Los Angeles, CA. How do those seemingly disparate threads inform you and the music which Moon Fever makes?
MITCH: Actually, that would be me. Honestly I think the band makes the location. Not the other way around. But as a country boy I love Jerry Reed, and as a city dweller I love Alice In Chains.
11.) Troy, at the end of the day what do you hope listeners walk away with after giving Getting Loud many-a spin on their respective hi-fi systems?
TROY: Hopefully, thoughts of “I can’t wait to see that live.”
12.) Dave, the music video for Getting Loud is amazing, one of the best we’ve ever had the pleasure of checking out! Was it as much fun to make the video as it is to view?
DAVE: Glad you liked it, we had a blast making it. We actually shot it in a warehouse in Phoenix while there was a dust storm raging outside. Big rock
