Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing a recently rising artist who goes by the stage name Boss Mac Nino. He hails from Seattle, Washington, and is the CEO of Diamond Echelon Music. With a unique blend of styles, many have gravitated to Boss Mac Nino’s music due to the street smarts, and passion he puts in the music. Recently Boss Mac Nino has been making waves in the industry and today we’ll be diving in to figure out why.

Hello, Boss Mac Nino! Thank you for joining us today. Can you start by introducing yourself and telling us a bit about your journey so far?

I’m Boss Mac Nino, representing Seattle, Washington, and the Highway. I started making music back in school, freestyling with my friends. However, it wasn’t until 2017 when I really took it seriously and founded my own independent record label, Diamond Echelon Music. Since then, I’ve been honing my craft and collaborating with talented artists from my city. It’s been a lot of hard work, but it’s definitely paying off.

That’s impressive, Boss Mac Nino. It’s great to see your dedication and the progress you’ve made. Speaking of your roots, could you tell us more about where you’re from and when you first started pursuing music seriously?

I was born in Seattle, but I was raised on the Highway. Music has always been a part of my life, and I started dabbling in it during high school, mainly freestyling. As I got older, I began sharpening my skills and putting my thoughts on paper. It was a natural progression for me.

Life often presents challenges that shape us as individuals. What would you say has been the most challenging obstacle you’ve overcome so far?

In this game, things don’t always go your way. I’ve faced various challenges, but a few stand out. Firstly, being snitched on or set up by someone I trusted, which led to prison time. Secondly, losing my father to cancer when I was only 14 years old. Lastly, a close friend of mine tried to harm me back in 2007, but I defended myself. These experiences have taught me many valuable lessons and made me who I am today.

Thank you for sharing those personal experiences. It’s commendable how you’ve turned those challenges into opportunities for growth. Moving on to your musical influences, who would you say inspires you the most?

There are so many artists that inspire me, it’s hard to pick just one. But if I had to name a few, I would say Suga Free, E40, Too Short, Tupac, June the Legend, Highway Tone, Sauce Gordon, Stuey Newton, T Gamer, Ellis Prescott, Mista Rain, and Swisher Sleep, among others. They all bring something unique to the table and have played a role in shaping my musical style.

That’s quite an impressive list of inspirations. Now, when people listen to your music, what do you want them to take away from it?

When people listen to my music, I want them to feel the sincerity and authenticity in my lyrics. I’ve lived or experienced everything I rap about. The game has given me both its dark side and its benefits. I make music because I genuinely love it, and no record deal can pay me more than what I’m already earning. It’s all about the love for the game and my passion for music.

Could you elaborate on what drives you to pursue music?

Music is ingrained in me. I grew up listening to old-school R&B and hip-hop, and I would sing along to every song, regardless of how good or bad I sounded. It’s not just a hobby; it’s a part of who I am. I have a natural gift for spitting this good game, and that’s what drives me to pursue music.

It’s fantastic to see how your love for music has become such a significant part of your identity. Moving on to your achievements, what would you say is your greatest accomplishment as a musician thus far?

I’ve had several achievements, but if I had to choose one, it would be reaching 97,000 streams in the past year alone. However, I believe there are many more accomplishments to come. My videos continue to gain traction every day, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

Thank you for sharing your creative process, Boss Mac Nino. If there’s one artist you could collaborate with, who would it be and why?

If I had the opportunity, I would love to work with Suga Free. He’s an incredible artist, and I feel our styles would complement each other perfectly. I can already imagine the energy and the “Poppin’ these P’s” vibes we would bring to the table.

Is there anything else you’d like our audience to know about you or your music?

I want everyone to know that my music is the real deal. It comes from someone who has lived through it and continues to thrive. I don’t need a label or music to pay me to shine in this world. I do it for the love of the game and my passion for music. If my music resonates with you, tap in.
