Noted Iranian pianist and musician, Reza Tajbakhsh, prepares to weave magic with his captivating melodies in his latest album ‘Chikology’, slated for a full release in 2024. With the first single already released in 2021, Tajbakhsh promises an array of unique rhythms and harmonies, inspired by the vibrant spirit of Latin Jazz.
The album showcases Tajbakhsh’s creative partnership with an illustrious group of musicians including Dave Weckl, John Patitucci, Bill Evans, and Al Di Meola. “Creating ‘Chikology’ has been a truly exhilarating experience. It was an honor to share the creative process with such esteemed musicians, their contributions have been invaluable,” says Tajbakhsh, who regards the upcoming album as the best he’s ever created.
In addition to his ambitious musical venture, Tajbakhsh has been instrumental in redefining music education in Iran. Together with his friends Amir Motamedi and Yalda Samadi, he co-founded ‘Yar,’ a state-of-the-art piano academy in 2021. Located on Fereshteh Street in Tehran, ‘Yar’ currently educates 400 students under the expert guidance of a team of experienced and highly qualified piano teachers.
“We may have started late, but the satisfaction of sharing our knowledge and experience with eager young pianists has been worth the wait. ‘Yar’ represents our collective vision of shaping the future of music education in Iran,” Tajbakhsh reflects.
Born in Tehran on November 18, 1981, Tajbakhsh started his unofficial music journey in 1990 before officially stepping into the music industry in 2000. Over the years, he has collaborated with top pop singers in Iran, led orchestras, and performed extensively with his Jazz-Latin band ‘E-Jazz.’ His accomplishments include being selected as the best Piano Player in 2012 and the Best Pop Music arranger in 2013.
As the music world eagerly anticipates the launch of ‘Chikology,’ Tajbakhsh remains steadfast in his pursuit of excellence, both in his musical compositions and his commitment to the ‘Yar’ academy. With each passing day, he strengthens his place as a musical beacon in Iran and beyond.
