“Saw X” Releases Official Film Logo Ahead of Impending Trailer

What do you do to stoke the energy and excitement of moviegoers if you’re the producers and the studio behind a long-running horror movie franchise? Well, look no further than the above teaser image for the upcoming tenth film in the Saw franchise which kicks this article off, Dear and Constant Readers.

From our Tobin Bell and Cary Elwes fanatics over at Bloody Disgusting comes the news today that the official logo for Saw X has been unveiled, leading to much speculation that a teaser trailer won’t be too far behind it. Specifically, word ‘round industry campfire has it that the trailer might just drop at this summer’s Midsummer Scream extravaganza in July.

On the official Saw facebook page, fans were sent into a frenzy of anticipation with this little announcement: “Put an X on your calendar. #SawX comes to Midsummer Scream the weekend of July 28th.”

Midsummer Scream, fortunately for those of us that like to unwrap our Halloween candy a little early, issued an official description of some of the Saw events going down at this year’s event, thus shedding a little light on what sort of goodies we can expect.

“One of the most iconic horror film series comes to Midsummer Scream for the first time ever this year, as Lionsgate brings SAW to the world’s biggest horror convention.

“On the floor of the Long Beach Convention Center, an incredible SAW experience invites Midsummer Scream guests to explore the horrific, unnerving, and unforgettable world of the SAW movies. It’s open to guests all three days of the event.

“And on Saturday, July 29, special guests who helped bring SAW to the screen will take part in a panel presentation that offers exclusive mind-bending glimpses into the upcoming film SAW X, coming to movie theaters this October from Lionsgate.”

Yep, that sure sounds like a perfect venue to unveil a theatrical trailer to us

For anyone not in the know, Saw X will see the triumphant return of Tobin Bell as the Big Bad. Also on tap to return to the directing chair is Kevin Greutert, the same gent that helmed Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter. Greutert’s history with the franchise goes all the way back to the beginning when he worked as an editor on the original film.

Saw X crashed into theaters this coming October 27.
