Diablo 4 has been on track for almost two weeks now. We’re always on the lookout for new loot caves, the fastest way to earn XP and gear. Diablo 4 players only have to look for a way to find the most efficient way to do the job.
Overview
As you might expect, this has a specific grind. Since the release of Diablo 4, the developers want players to use it more, and they want players to use it when challenging Nightmare Dungeon as well.
Not only do these let you fight enemies above your level, they give you more XP. This means they have an extra Diablo 4 Gold drop as part of the dungeon loot itself compared to normal dungeons.
You’ll usually find a Legendary or Unique from there. But the most important thing is that there are specific Affixes in Nightmare Dungeon. Such as Gold Find, which can increase the chance and quantity of D4 Gold dropped in the dungeon. Or Magic Find, which increases the number of dropped Diablo 4 items, thus increasing the potential for Legendary and Unique drops.
The problem is that until now Nightmare Dungeons haven’t been the most efficient way to farm experience or gear. So a lot of players just kind of ignore them. Though they provide an extremely important way to increase player power, namely leveling up your Paragon Glyphs.
For obvious reasons, they’ve been nerfing the loot caves in order to allow us to focus more on Nightmare Dungeon. As a proper repeatable endgame activity in Diablo 4, not to mention it also reduces the repeatability of Diablo 4 missions. Because you’ll end up doing tons of different dungeons based on titles, you get instead of running one dungeon over and over.
New Method Of Loot Farming
So we have a whole new loot and XP farming method to share. It’s a mix of what we use in normal dungeons, turning normal dungeons into loot caves. But it also happens in Nightmare Dungeon. This is by far the most effective loot caves concept.
Using this method, you can technically apply it to any Nightmare Dungeon and focus dungeon that suits your build specifically. But it helps you understand how Nightmare Dungeon add on and level scaling all work.
That way, you won’t be running around with long kills. Any pure travel time is just a loss of XP and loot. Because these are just zero drop rate and no D4 Gold and experience bonus. So, like travel time, they are just a waste of the past.
How To Quick Reset Nightmare Dungeon?
There is a way in Diablo 4 to actually reset a Nightmare Dungeon, not a way to reset a normal dungeon. Because if you do that with Nightmare Sigil active, it will literally just destroy it and drop it, and you will lose Sigil entirely.
But there is a way to reset more than just Nightmare Dungeon. And it’s so much easier to reset them than the logout method of regular dungeon resets. So much so that you save time farming them repeatedly, and you can also do this between runs by keeping Elixirs alive.
Then activate Nightmare Sigil to enter the dungeon is level four. You can complete some of it, or leave now. But don’t finish the dungeon. Whatever you exit, or go to any other Diablo 4 Dungeon Iron Hold is fine.
Because we can do really quickly the first goal. You can now exit your Nightmare Dungeon, either by walking out through a portal or using the exit on Diablo 4 emote wheel, and Nightmare Dungeon will fully reset immediately.
You can keep doing this and it will keep resetting every time. But when you log out, it disappears, and you can’t do it anymore. So you just need to use Magic Find to find the right Dungeon for you.
Advantages Of Nightmare Dungeon As A Loot Cave
Its advantage over normal dungeons is 25 extra XP. Because here the monsters are at least 3 levels higher than you, and the extra Diablo 4 Gold drop from Magic Find Affix makes it even clearer. The dungeon I challenged was Maugan’s Works. Although this is a mid-level loot cave dungeon, it really is the absolute best mid-level dungeon at this point.
Anyway, I got 450,000 experience out of it to complete the first objective, which took me two minutes, and averaged about 13.5 million experience per hour. I get 1-2 Legendaries per run.
But it’s really not the best Legendary drop dungeon strategy for Legendaries. Although it is 48 Legendaries per hour, it is really not a wonderful experience. This means that even Maugan’s Works as a mid tier dungeon, Magic Find and enemies will be 3 levels higher than you on Nightmare Sigil.
But that doesn’t include the fact that the normal dungeon login and logout reset times are much worse than Nightmare Dungeons reset method. The latter just exits the dungeon and returns immediately. No loading screens, no waiting time. So, even mid-level dungeons like Maugan’s Works can use this Affix. And this strategy is better than the loot cave we ran before.
But, once Blizzard realizes that people are resetting the same Nightmare Dungeons repeatedly, this method probably won’t last more than a few days. They’ll probably patch it as soon as possible, so I suggest you take advantage of it as much as you can in the meantime.
Summarize
Let’s wrap things up. This method works for Nightmare Dungeons. You need a Sigil to make a good dungeon. It requires your building to clear a dungeon quickly with a good density of monsters, especially elite dungeons, and ideally laid out well.
So you have no spare travel time. You need Magic Find Affixes, which also drops more loot than average, giving you a higher chance of getting Legendaries. It’s just that you’ll be facing monsters that include at least 3 levels above you, ideally more like 5 or 6 levels above you.
If you plan on farming the same Sigil over and over from then on, you’ll need to immediately go to any random other dungeon and complete the first objective. Then leave and go back to your Nightmare Dungeons.
From then on, no matter how you leave Nightmare Dungeons in any given way, it will completely reset, meaning you can just go back and restart quickly and easily. This won’t last long, and while you can get it, it’s better than any other method of getting loot.
