An undeniable hit maker within the Israeli music scene, Shay Pinto captured the attention of many music lovers and industry insiders alike. Let’s delve into the unique journey of this Israeli prodigy, from his humble beginnings as a guitar player to his rise as a prominent figure in the Israeli music arena, and his first steps in the international music industry.
Shay’s musical journey began as a young boy, fascinated by the sound of his father’s guitar.
He started playing at the age of 11 and quickly showed remarkable talent. Within a year, he won his first scholarship from the city of Haifa, which allowed him to study with some of the best guitar teachers in the country.
It didn’t take long for Shay’s exceptional talent to be noticed by the top artists and managers in the music industry. At the age of 19, he signed to a major label in Israel, and his debut single “A Song About an Ex” quickly gained popularity. The song was featured on popular TV shows, including the Israeli version of Survivor, taking the song to a new audience nationwide.
Shay’s exceptional skills as a singer and producer also caught the attention of some of Israel’s biggest mainstream acts.
He worked with Mergui as his main producer, who is now signed to Columbia Records in the US, on the song “All Is See Through” that reached the #3 spot on Israeli radio. He also wrote and produced for another Israeli icon, Nadav Guedj, the Israeli singer to represent the country at the Eurovision in 2015.
Shay’s reputation as a songwriter also gained him critical acclaim. His song “What About Me” which he wrote for Amit Shauly, garnered him a Song Of The Year Nomination in 2022 in the GLGLZ radio station, the largest station in Israel. At the national level, Shay performed as the lead guitarist of the Navy Band, and went on a tour in Canada representing Israel, and raising an impressive $2.7 million for The Associations for Israel’s Soldiers. He was also elected to lead the performance for celebrating 70 years of the IDF bands, which was televised nationwide featuring some of Israel’s iconic artists, some of them, you may know (like Yehoram Goon, Sassi Keshet, Moshe Perez, and Eliad Nahum).
His band Lomipo’s unique sound has turned many heads and ears all across the world.
With his passionate playing and catchy melodies, he presents a band that is not something that you hear every day.
While working in Israel, Shay has collaborated with some of LA’s top producers, including multi-platinum record producer and beat maker ChaseTheMoney (J. Cole, Juice WRLD, J.I.D), multi-platinum record producer Johnny Goldstein (Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Sia, Coi Larey), and Gold Record producer Marky Style (Royal & The Serpent, Atlantic Records).
Recently, Shay signed with one of the world’s largest royalty-free/sync music libraries/labels, Artlist.io. Under the name “Shinto” He has secured working contracts with them for multiple projects ahead, which will provide him with a significant platform to showcase his music and grow his fanbase.
