VENTS Magazine recently had the pleasure of interviewing Intruder 424 about their brand new music video, “Devil In Your Crown.” The interview can be read below.
What are a few of your favorite lyrics from “Devil In Your Crown,” and why?
I think we have similar favorite lines one obviously being “devil in your crown” because it sounds so powerful.
Chris: “Sick of biting my tongue, sick of playing it safe” is my favorite because we all feel that way at some point.
Pete: “When you look into my eyes, tell what do you see?” is my favorite line because it’s how a tyrant can view you as being weak or strong.
Can you describe the process of creating the “Devil In Your Crown” song and music video?
The process of creating the song started with a riff at practice and we slowly built off of that riff and that became the instrumental for the song. As for the lyrics, we wanted to have a song about a tyrant trying to take control. As for the music video, we reached out to Alex who shot our last music video for “Make It Out Alive”, and he had the perfect spot in New Jersey to film it at. This spot had lights and risers and we could design it anyway we wanted. So, we sat down and drew out on a sheet of paper how we wanted the light show to look and the team over at the studio took our idea and ran with it. As for the day of filming, we filmed it in about six hours – funny enough, on Pete’s birthday!
What impact do you both hope to make on the music industry?
We both hope to be doing this for a very long time because we love making music and playing live! We would love to tour with all our favorite bands like Metallica, Royal Blood, and the Foo Fighters, and play all the major festivals around the world.
As artists and musicians, what are both of your favorite aspects of the creation process?
Pete: I love seeing a small idea from just us playing at practice and then building off of it and making it even better over time.
Chris: I could say the same thing as Pete, but I also think we both enjoy challenging ourselves every time we write a new song to do something different and unique that we have not done before!
Would Intruder 424 like to share plans or upcoming musical projects with their audience?
Yes! We have more releases planned for the future and also some shows that will be announced soon.
