Kyle Chandler and Diane Lane Assemble to Celebrate a Most Suspenseful “Anniversary”

Here at Vents, we pride ourselves in keeping the long game of most actors plainly in sight. In the case of Argo and Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler, that means we’ve been big fans ever since he landed on a charming early 1990s series from ABC called Homefront. Exhibiting a ‘Golly, shucks’ Jimmy Stewart/Gary Cooper vibe from the start, Chandler all but stole the show as young Jeff Metclaf, a baseball wannabe navigating the choppy waters of a post World War II homefront. And though it took the respective Powers That Be in Hollywood to catch hip to the former Early Edition star, we think it’s safe to say that by now in 2023, they’ve more than gotten the memo: Kyle Chandler is the real deal. Which is one of many reasons we’re excited to report on an upcoming film which not only features Mr. Chandler, but also a whole bevy of amazing on screen talent.

From our The Wolf of Wall Street fans over at The Hollywood Reporter comes the very intriguing news of a new film called Anniversary which unites a veritable role-call of top Hollywood talent for a suspense thriller yarn of the highest order.

Kyle Chandler, Diane Lane, Madeline Brewer, Daryl McCormack, Zoey Deutch, Phoebe Dynevor and Mckenna Grace all star in Anniversary, a story about a loving family torn asunder when something called ‘The Change’ sweeps over the country.

Directed by Jan Komasa of Corpus Christie fame, Anniversary was penned by wordsmith extraordinaire Lori Rosene-Gambino from a story devised by both Komasa and Rosene-Gambino. Production shingles Lionsgate and Fifth Season will be doing the releasing honors.

In a press release announcing the new film, Big Wheels of Fifth Season Graham Taylor and Chris Rice said that “It’s rare to read a script that keeps you so captivated and emotionally invested like Anniversary does. Jan is the perfect filmmaker to bring this thrilling story to life and we are excited to go on this journey with Lionsgate, this talented filmmaking team, and this amazing cast.”

But what does the Big Kahuna of Lionsgate – President of worldwide distribution Ron Schwartz have to say on the matter? Glad you asked, Dear and Constant Reader:

“Anniversary is a hard hitting and urgent take on a family apocalypse. It’s loaded with drama and suspense and could not be more current and relevant today,” Schwartz maintained in his press release. “We are thrilled to partner on our first project with Graham, Chris and their team at Fifth Season, along with these incredible filmmakers and stellar cast.” Ron baby, you have officially sold us on standing in line on opening day for Anniversary!

We’ll keep all of you card-carrying members of the Kyle Chandler Appreciation Society up to date on exactly when Anniversary is set to premiere!
