elijah woods Releases Lead Single “make believe”

elijah woods releases his heartbreaking yet energetic new song, make believeindependently. The track is the lead single off woods’ upcoming EP, what is it was great?, out on June 16.

“make believe is the story of fighting for someone who’s already emotionally gone. The song’s anthemic chorus highlights the desperateness trying to be the glue in a relationship,” says woods.

The forthcoming six-song EP will include previously released songs everything everywhere always and past life with a narratively connected, interstellar-esque series of official music videos.

“my creative process is a constant battle between self-doubt and the desire for perfection. i consistently struggle with the feeling that my music is never truly finished, and that i can always do better. i lose sight that the art is subjective, and there will usually be someone who loves and appreciates it, regardless of how i feel about it. over the last 8 months writing this ep, i kept asking myself “what if it isn’t good enough?”, and “what if no one likes it”. as i was completing the final song for the project, i realized i’d been asking myself the wrong question the whole time. i started asking myself “what if it was great?”. this ep is the story of self doubt pushing me to create a collection of songs i’m truly proud of,” says woods.

woods will join Australian singer/songwriter Dean Lewis on his sold-out The Future Is Right, tour in May. Dates listed below:

May 22 – Montreal, QC @ MTELUS

May 24 – Ottawa, ON @ The Bronson Centre

May 25 – Montreal, QC @ MTELUS
