Comfort’s release ‘Get Out Your Head’

Comforts, the four-piece indie-rock band from Brighton, has returned with a new single, “Get Out Your Head,” which is a sneak peek into their upcoming EP. The track has been produced and mixed by Alexander Gordon, who has worked with prominent names such as The Cure, Sundara Karma, and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man. The band has been gradually gaining popularity in the indie scene, with their music being featured on playlists such as Apple Music’s “New In Rock” and “New In Alternative.”

“Get Out Your Head” showcases Comforts’ unique sound, which blends the energy of 00’s indie rock with the melodic charm of contemporary pop. The track leans towards their rockier side, with catchy guitar riffs and powerful choruses that are sure to get listeners’ heads bopping. The lyrics, penned by Sam, are a reminder to stay true to oneself and not let others’ opinions define one’s self-worth.

The band has experimented with a new piece of equipment, the YAMAHA FX500, which is an audio effects unit from the 80s. They have used it to great effect in the track, creating a shoegaze vibe in the intro and a crazy distortion patch for the chorus. “Get Out Your Head” is one of their favourite tracks to perform live, and with its infectious energy, it is sure to become a fan favourite.

Comforts’ music has received praise from several tastemakers in the music industry, including Clout, Earmilk, Atwood Magazine, and Gigslutz. They have also received airplay on BBC Radio, with Chris Hawkins on BBC Radio 6 Music and local plays from BBC Introducing. The band has been tipped by This Feeling’s “Big in 2023” campaign, which has previously supported breakout bands such as Catfish & the Bottlemen, Blossoms, and The Lathums.

Comforts’ return with “Get Out Your Head” is an exciting development for indie-rock fans. With their infectious songwriting, vibrant guitar lines, and euphoric energy, the band has delivered yet another fine addition to their growing catalog. With a big year ahead of them, Comforts is definitely a band to watch out for.
