When you think of a soldier, you might picture someone dressed in camouflage and carrying a gun. Yet, SR.GENT, also known as Lester, defies the preconception. In 2013, he traded in his army fatigues for a guitar and enrolled at Berklee College of Music.
SR.GENT graduated from the elite institution in 2017 after years of hard effort. He didn’t stop there, though. Rather than going back to the barracks, he pursued his musical love and began making his debut album, “1992.” The album is scheduled to be released on June 29, 2022, and it is expected to be thought-provoking.
SR.GENT, however, did not stop there. In addition, he established his own record label, LTP INC. As CEO, he oversees not only his own career but also the careers of his four labelmates: CashOnAble, Gutta Terantino, DTrick Tha Bandit, and Stefanello. You may be wondering how a soldier became a music magnate. The shift, according to SR.GENT, was not onerous. “Discipline and devotion are required in both the military and the music industry,” he remarked. “Moreover, I’ve always like music. It was only a matter of summoning the guts to go for it.”
Of course, being a veteran and a musician is not an easy combination. “It’s difficult to create music when you’re used to obeying directions,” SR.GENT said. “But, I’m getting the hang of it.”
SR.GENT says that running a record company is difficult. “Since I’ve never been a CEO before, there’s a lot to learn. But I’m surrounded by great individuals who believe in me, and that makes all the difference.”
So, what is the next step for SR.GENT and LTP INC? The debut album, however, is only the beginning. They have ambitious plans for the future, including tours, collaborations, and the expansion of their artist portfolio. “We’re just getting started,” stated SR.GENT. “And we’re ready to take over the music world.”
SR.GENT’s journey has been one of endurance and enthusiasm, from Afghanistan to Berklee to LTP INC. He may no longer be wearing a uniform, but he is still fighting for what he believes in: excellent music and a better future.
