The Amsterdam singer-songwriter is back, and this time with an irresistible new E.P. entitled “Back To The Start.” Erik Reino manages to vibrantly blend rock, pop and electronic music together throughout the E.P – with heavy guitars, warm synths and irresistible vocal lines featuring in abundance. Erik Reino is committed to building an emotional bond between him and his audience, and therefore he emotionally opens up throughout the E.P.
Speaking about the E.P, he says: “I was inspired by the Greek mythology of Sisyphus: endlessly rolling a giant boulder uphill, only to see it roll down in the end. It’s a metaphor for life: you keep building projects, but in the end, everything falls apart in life. This comes up mainly in the song Back To The Start, but the theme also returns in the song Old Town Cinema, where the focus is more on the nostalgic side of things falling apart. In this case: an old movie theatre stands for adolescence which inevitably ends for everyone.”
Erik Reino has achieved accolades such as landing in the New Music Friday NL playlist, and he was also played and praised by two of the biggest radio DJ’s in the Netherlands. With this in mind, we can see 2023 being his year.
