Tell us more about your new EP. What was the initial trigger and inspiration that led to its creation.
The initial start of my EP Mental Advantage was birthed through the first beat that I heard from the song sonny. I was immediately brought to display emotions, and captivate the true feelings about how my life was feeling coming to peace with the passing of my father, and being able to level up as a mature man would do. I wanted to put all of my emotions into a body of work that people could relate to, and also feel themselves. I personally feel as if I succeeded when I saw my sister cry to the song that I made, so I achieved my goal.

How did your creative process take place for recording it? Was it any different than for your previous releases? If so, what was the main difference?
My recording process never really waivers and how I approach every song. I honestly go ahead first and I used to smoke before starting every session. Now I just got off the top of my head with anything that I have written down when creativity comes to me and I just try my best to convey my feelings in front of the microphone.
Which artists have inspired you? Are the influences present in the music you make today?
I’m inspired by Lauryn Hill, Adele and many more artists such as Al Green & so on. Lauryn Hill’s influence of spreading the truth in her music is one thing that I have picked up and used ever since I found God.

How would you define your own signature style?
I will almost describe my style as a poet. I would freestyle, but now it’s more spreading awareness and giving thanks to the blessings that I have myself. because everybody has the same capability to do what I’m doing. Honestly, I’m just having fun.
What’s the best advice that was ever given to you regarding your music?
The best advice that I’ve received regarding the music that I make is most likely the fact that they said I need to not change and continue to be different because that’s what will always attract.
What do you hope to accomplish this year?
Within this year, my music will take me places that I have never seen before, because I’m doing good. I know this is exactly how my life will play out within the next year.
