- Design your label
- Add a warning label
- Print your labels
Continue reading to learn more about each step.
Step 1: Select the Size and Shape of Your Label
You must ensure the product label you create is appropriate for the intended application. It is best to start with your product container and work from there. Measure the area of your container to determine the best size and shape for your label. Once you have this information, you can search by size and shape to find the best SheetLabels.com templates. We also offer customized cut-to-size labels for containers with unusual shapes.
Step 2: Select your material
After you have determined the shape and size of your label, you can choose your material. There are many materials available that can be used for candle labels. These include sheets and rolls—cut-to-size labels. We recommend any temperature-resistant materials for labels on sheets or cut-to-size labels. For candle labels, any of our weatherproof and vinyl materials are suitable. These materials are highly durable and resist water, moisture, and oils. These materials are also resistant to heat and water. They are also resistant to high temperatures.
Step 3: Design your label
Once you have chosen the size and material of your label, it is time to create your label artwork. You have a variety of options, including the SheetLabels.com online design tool. You can use this tool free of charge right from your web browser. It comes with tons of fonts, shapes, artwork, and more. We also have a variety of pre-designed templates that you can use for candle labels. Add your customizations, and you are done! You can also buy a candle label machine for customizing your design.
Follow These Guidelines
Although there is plenty of creative potential in the design process, there are some guidelines that you should follow. Your template guidelines are the most important thing. You don’t care what software you use to create labels. All essential elements like text, images, and icons must be kept within the safe template area. The safe zone is 0.125″ for sheets and cut-to-size labels, while for rolls, it’s 0.0625″. This distance is measured from the label’s outer edge and is shown in the image below by the black dotted line. Your artwork will not be removed during printing by keeping it within the safe zone.
If you have a background color, an image, or a pattern in your label artwork, make sure you include bleed so that the background elements can print up to the edge of the label if the template allows. The recommended bleed space for sheets and cut-to-size labels is 0.125″; for rolls, it’s 0.0625. This distance is measured from the edge of the brand. The blue line shows it in the below image. Learn more about bleeding.
Include Important Information
It is essential to include all information that a customer would need about your product when designing a product label. This includes information such as the product weight and burns time, the brand name or logo of the candle, and the scent name. A brief description of the candle’s fragrance or a list of the ingredients may be helpful.
You should also consider adding any additional value propositions to differentiate your product from other products. You can sell your candles with unique selling points like 100% soy wax, hand-poured, essential oils, and any additional information that will help you stand out.
Step 4: Add a warning label
You must design a label that is attractive and visually appealing. However, it’s also essential to include any safety information or fine print. This includes safe burning instructions and a warning not to burn within reach when using candles. This information is often added to a separate label attached to the candle’s bottom or back by candle manufacturers.
SheetLabels.com offers a predesigned warning label for candles. This makes this step easy. Select the size and shape of the brand you want to print, and it will be ready!
Step 5: Print your labels
You have two options when printing your finished label: either print them at home or have them professionally printed using a custom-printed order. Both are efficient and produce high-quality brands, mainly when you use our premium materials. We recommend professional printing for larger orders and custom orders. Printing specialists will create high-quality labels to get your candles flying off shelves.
