Celebrated rising country singer, songwriter, and social media influencer Jarvis Redd has landed his debut motion picture role in the Josh Webber Christmas film “Athena Saves Christmas.” Jarvis will be portraying a singing security guard alongside rising 14 year-old pop superstar Kylie Marshall, Glenn Plummer, Mars Callahan, and Richard Portnow.
The short synopsis takes Samuel and his friends and his trusted dog Athena on an adventure of a lifetime. Matching wits with a mob boss the attempt to solve Oscar’s riddles in order to help Athena save Christmas for the whole town. The movie is written and directed by Josh Webber.
Aside from his movie debut Jarvis was just officially invited to perform at the 50th annual CMA Fest taking place in Nashville this coming June. The Festival is a 4 day event featuring the best in country music and collaborations including some of the top country stars on the planet. Part of the proceeds will benefit the CMA Foundation dedicated to shaping the next generation’s high-quality music education. It will take place at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee from June 8th to June 11th, 2023
Jarvis Redd has taken the country music industry as well as TikTok by storm. Jarvis began singing at age 7 at his grandfather‘s church. He developed the resonance of his country western tongues from his Mississippi born stepdad. After posting one of his recordings on TikTok he immediately received nearly 1,000,000 followers in less than a week and was noticed by country icons including Tim McGraw as well as the attention of the CMA‘s.
Jarvis Redd cannot stand still, because the world keeps turning. Every year gives way to the next, and its stories must be tucked away like children’s clothes, outgrown, cherish, and never quite forgotten. It takes courage and strength to show empathy, especially while writing and performing a song. Jarvis knows that the greatest gift is to realize that we do not travel alone, that they were hands to touch us and hearts to keep us warm.
