Ferid Hasbun is no stranger to sacrifice. From the ripe age of ten years old, he held a fascination with cameras that followed him into adulthood. After achieving a career in Switzerland working full-time in Business Administration, Hasbun decided to overhaul his professional life and began a career pursuing photography and film. Hasbun moved to the United States to pursue camera work, first working in a TV internship role doing interactive videography work, then moving on to attend New York Film School and moving to Los Angeles, graduating in 2015 and embarking on his film career. His mindset and driven attitude has been the major factor in propelling him forward in the face of challenges and pressure from all directions.
The drive and passion needed to succeed in such a competitive industry takes courage and grit. Hasbun has exercised this in his pursuit of his dreams, never settling for less and being willing to keep learning and pushing himself closer. Struggles Along the Way
Financial
Hasbun refused to allow obstacles to turn him away from his goals. A major struggle of his was financial; pursuing his degree in film school was no simple feat. Hasbun had to get creative while paying his way through school; using his experiences to build greater connections within his field.
Personal Artistry
The sensation of being fully exposed can be daunting for an artist. Creating art that is personally inspired can seem as if you are “putting your inner being, struggle, life, and taste into the world. The bigger struggle is coping with the judgment.” As an artist or creative professional, being aware of this struggle and facing it despite fear of judgment can be a catalyst for growth. Hasbun says “the price of happiness is putting yourself out there. I’m happy with myself. I know where I’m going. I do what I love.”

Hasbun has recently launched a media based beauty and fashion business. As he focuses on the beauty around him, his art flourishes and he continues to be a highly sought after camera specialist. Which means I’ve done filmwork, focus puller, second camera assistant, camera operator, director of photography for commercials.
