Singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ Starya shares her highly-anticipated, self-released new single “Clouds.” Playing the song throughout 2022 DJ sets, “Clouds” is a dreamy, lighthearted track with a dark twist. Starya’s airy vocals provide contrast to the chest-rattling synth reverberations that are as uplifting as they are mesmerizing.
“This was the first song I made in my new studio, which is why it feels special to me. It feels like the turning of a page to new horizons. But I guess you could say I began writing it when I was a kid, staring out the airplane window, fantasizing about putting clouds in jars,” Starya shares of the tune. “Clouds” holds personal significance to the Los Angeles-based artist. She explains, “Sometimes we are so caught up in our lives and the little dramas therein. I want ‘Clouds’ to lift you up above those daily stressors, to make you feel like you are floating away on the fluffiest cloud to a place where all of those things that you thought mattered so much are inconsequential.”
The euphoric single is the third + final release of 2022 for Starya, formerly known as Tuff Ghost. With previous singles dropping on underground dance label Pop Gang earlier this year, “Clouds” represents a new chapter in Starya’s story as a dynamic, multi-faceted music industry tastemaker.
