“Three Corners of Deception,” Dr. Meleeka’s award-winning directing debut, is based on a true event of a struggling woman who fought for custody of her kid but lost against the good old boys’ system. The story revolves around a single mother struggling to make ends meet while simultaneously fighting for custody of her kid. She rapidly learns, however, that the judicial system is set against her. She is up against powerful and well-connected individuals preventing her from regaining custody of her kid.

Dr. Meleeka has won several accolades and awards for Three Corners of Deception, including Best Human Rights Director at the Toronto International Women Film Festival. The indie film was also screened at Berlin International Art Film Festival. Furthermore, the film was also awarded a Bronze award at the International Independent Film Festival, and Dr. Meleeka was awarded the director honors at the Red River Film Festival.
