Lately, I’ve been trying to improve my life in simple ways. From switching up my hairstyle to finding a more fulfilling job, here are 5 things I’ve done to change my lifestyle!
Getting a Gym Membership
First, I decided to improve my health and fitness. The two go hand-in-hand; to be healthy, you should be as fit as possible. Conversely, when you’re in good shape, you should be healthy!
To get started, I signed up for a membership at a nearby gym. I’ve been going almost every day. I’m by no means able to deadlift heavy weights, but I’ve been taking things slowly, and have noticed results. If I keep things up, I’m sure that I’ll be able to achieve bigger goals!
I didn’t always live a sedentary lifestyle, but when I started to work a desk job, I found it more difficult to make time to get up and move around. This is ultimately why I chose to become more active and rebuild my muscular and cardiovascular fitness!
Quitting My Job for a Better One
After a while, what you thought was a good job usually turns into a boring, tiresome one that you dread waking up for. People who have been in the same profession for too long eventually get burnt out, and I’m no exception. My comfortable day job, which initially seemed like a major opportunity, has been nothing but a disappointment. So, I typed up a resignation letter.
I’d heard from a few rival companies that I would get more benefits and a bigger paycheck if I packed up and worked for them, and that’s exactly what I did: hopped ship to sail for better seas. This change of pace has offered more excitement than I’ve felt in years, and it will allow me to live a much more engaging, fulfilling lifestyle!
Changing Up My Hairstyle
It’s hard not to become complacent over the years, especially when it comes to appearance. You find a hairstyle that works for you and wear it again and again until it takes over your identity. My standard hairstyle, for example, has been a combover with short sides.
One of the biggest parts of bettering yourself, however, comes in the form of broadening your horizons. That’s why I’ve decided to visit my barber and ask him what other hairstyles would potentially work for me. I may be able to take a page out of the newer generations’ book and grow out my hair long enough to put in a ponytail. I don’t know if it’ll look good on me, but I won’t know until I try!
It’s super fun and exciting to try out new things!
Finding a Cure for My Wrinkles
As we age, we develop wrinkles and other awful signs of aging. I’ve come to look a lot older recently, which has bothered me, so I decided to take a stand and do something about it.
I started to use a face wash full of antioxidants. I’ve also been applying anti-aging cream every day for the last week. I know that this routine won’t do anything dramatic right away, but it’s a good start, and will only get better with time!
I’ve also been talking to a local plastic surgeon. I’m planning on booking an appointment to discuss how a deep plane facelift will help me look younger and more refreshed. I can’t wait to see my results in just a few short months!
Mental Exercises, like Meditation
Too much stress is problematic for anyone. It can lead to health problems, tensions at home, and a negative mindset. I’ve found that one of the best ways to combat stress is through mental exercise. I’ve been trying out a few different methods and am really enjoying them.
For the last few weeks, my favorite thing to do once I get home is listen to rainforest sounds and meditate with the lights off. It’s fantastic for relieving stress. I recommend trying it out sometime—all you really need is 30 minutes of quiet per day!
