Two brothers, Atticus & Luke Roness, were introduced to bands like The Beatles, Queen and Bowie at a young age leading them to master rock ‘n’ roll and become known as The Corduroy Blue. Laying a foundation for their careers in music and releasing their first single “Gimmie Love” with tastemakers throwing words around like “On the right path towards their dreams”, there is no doubt that this duo has something special.
Several singles followed and released in 2021 which allowed them to display their position in the rock world, but today they released a dream, their 11-track debut self-titled album The Corduory Blue via Cage Riot Music Group. The album is a soundtrack of their lives filled with the inspiration of the idols they grew up listening to and redefining rock ‘n’ roll. The Roness brothers blended their experiences and rock ‘n’ roll to create a vintage sensibility with a modern sound. The brothers add, “As of 11/11, our debut album will be out. 7 months & 11 tracks later, it’s out for our little world to hear. it’s for the pop fan, the rock fan & and kind of fan really. I truly hope you can hear the blood, sweat & tears that were poured into these tunes. This album is the soundtrack to our life. It’s the album we wish we could have heard in our formulative years. It didn’t exist, so we decided to make it ourselves. From the bombastic disco-infused pop of ‘Nature of the Game’ to the somber and sobering ‘Passing Lane’ the album tackles love, loss & us finding our way through life in our early 20’s. It’s our privilege to present ‘The Corduroy Blue’”.
Our standout track of this album is “Dreams + Nightmares”. The brothers deliver a melody that continues to swirl through your head as the day goes on. With a sweet memorable guitar solo, and lyrics we can all feel, something magical happens with this song. You feel that nostalgic rock with a touch of blues coming from lead singer Atticus Roness.
The final single of the album, “Her Majesty”, is a listener’s favorite with suspended electric guitars, piano melodies it surely gets you hooked on with vocal harmonies that join in would surely get you glued, harmonies reminiscent of The Beatles.
The Corduroy Blue perfectly blends their signature style which incorporates the rock era with elements of classical music and traditional pop in the most innovative ways. The results of this duo’s talent are nothing short of pop-rock perfection.
