To contribute to the existing Digital India Mission of the Government Of India, the Ministry Of Health And Family Welfare introduced an autonomous body named National Health Authority (NHA) in the year 2018. NHA, through the recent initiative named Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) which was launched on 27th September 2021. The initiative started committing to provide seamless healthcare services nationwide through digital platforms. This intervention is known as Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA).

What is the ABHA card?

The initiative of Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission (ABDM), the ABHA card is a hassle-free method of digitally accessing all the health records of the citizen. This card has a card number and address that enables easy interaction with other participants like health providers, thus, allowing one to receive digital lab reports, diagnoses, and prescriptions.

How to create an ABHA card?

Primarily, there are two main ways to apply for an ABHA health ID card online. It can be done based on an Aadhaar card or driving license. If someone doesn’t have these two documents, Ayushman card Kaisebanaen is a concern. In such a case, one can create it through a mobile number.

Via Aadhar Card

On the official website, you can use the Aadhar number to register for an ABHA health ID. It will require OTP authentication. Thereafter you need to create the username and password to access your ABHA card online.

Via Driving License

From the ABDM portal, you will only obtain an enrolment number when you wish to create the ABHA card via driving license. You must take your driving license to the nearby ABDM facility to verify your identity. Once it is done, the ABHA health ID will be generated.

Via Mobile Number

If someone doesn’t have any of the above identity proof, you can also use your mobile number on the official website. Click on the ‘I don’t have any ID/ I don’t want to use my IDs for creating ABHA’ option and then mention the registered mobile number to generate the OTP. After that, you just need to enter your data and create a username and password to create the digital health ID to use.
