Continuation bet
As its name suggests, it is a bet that follows a previous bet. We explain it with an example to make it easier to understand: You are in the first round, preflop, with some not inconsiderable cards that encourage you to make a good bet.
The flop is revealed and three cards are shown that don’t add anything to your hand. Since you bet heavily preflop, a good strategy would be to make a continuation bet, i.e. to make your opponents believe that the flop has been very beneficial to you and therefore bet accordingly.

Blocking bet
While the continuation bet is closely linked to the preflop, when it is usually initiated, the blocking bet is very present on the last street, the river, although it can also be seen on the turn. You find yourself on the river with a hand that is not excessively strong but not weak either. It is your turn and you have to decide whether to check or bet. With the first option, you run the risk that your opponent raises too much, a risk you don’t want to take because you believe that your hand cannot be wasted and must make it to showdown.
What to do in this situation? Players usually make a blocking bet that usually corresponds to between 20% or 30% of the pot. The goal is to minimize the risk and try to make it to the next street. This type of betting usually saves players a lot of money, but, as in any other case, it should not be abused.
Value Bet
Briefly, so much is the value of your hand, so much you bet. A value bet is one placed by a player who clearly has a winning hand and therefore wants to make as much money as possible on it.
Test bet
As the name suggests, the purpose of the test bet is to test the opponents. A player placing this bet wants to extract information from his opponents, observe their reactions and, based on this, make more accurate bets on the following streets.
Donk Bet
Unlike the rest of the bets that respond to a specific strategy, this bet is called this way based on the moment in which it takes place.
It is known as Donk Bet when it is placed at the most inopportune moment. Moreover, it takes place out of position and without any kind of initiative, that is to say, without having made the last raise or bet in the previous betting round.
