California Condor are a unique duo that hail from Estonia, a small country in Northern Europe. Forged in the light of 2021, their Post Grunge & Alternative metal influences combined with Hop-Hip with a dash of Metal to create their unique and signature sound. Their latest single “Dissident” showcases their signature sound. Drums smash through the mix, reverberating energy around the track. Guitars pierce through the mix with overdrive, on top lands a mixture of softly-penned, melancholy vocals and screamo-esc choruses enticing us in even further.
Speaking about the track, they say: “The melody has to match the lyrics. Because there came a guitar riff that was melodic and dark enough for “Dissident” . The melody stands with protest, rather more confident protest than uncertain . We thought the melody and words match for “Dissident” and so the song was made. This track is dedicated to the ones who stand for righteous principals and who stick by these principals until no matter what. Nothing can remove these principals from the person, because he knows it’s the only truth.”
They’ve been received warmly and will present their sound at the Worldwide Music Expo in Lisbon from 19-23 October. It’s not one to be missed.
