INTERVIEW: Shanghai Metro Temple

Shanghai Metro Temple is a Rock Band located in Denver, Colorado. They began when their guitarist Pat and drummer Justin Met in Shanghai while studying abroad and decided to start this project. They have headlined for national acts like Diplo and have grown their band to over 20k streams in their first year!

Hello Shanghai Metro Temple! Thank you for speaking with me!

What have you all been working on lately? Any fun projects you want to share?

There has been quite a bit we have been working on actually! We just got out of the studio after finishing up our most recent single which has been a blast. It’s been 6 months since we have had anything new out so i’m very excited to be back in the swing of a release.

How have your live shows been going?

Live shows have been steady and trending further and further away from Denver which has been really something else. Meeting all sorts of new people, going new places, eating good food has been a highlight of our journeys so far.

What can audiences expect at a live show of yours?

Live shows are always a great time, we have a mix of covers and originals that we shuffle through to kinda make the experience a little different each time.

What do you hope that audiences take with them from your live shows?

We hope that everyone who comes has a great time and is left with a new favorite song.

Do you feel like where you all are from influences the music you create?

I think to some degree yes but really it’s where we have been and what we’ve experienced that really drives our inspiration.

What would you say is the most rewarding part of what you do?

Just being given the opportunity by countless venues and people to share our music with them. It’s an incredibly humbling experience making music and when people really enjoy it it’s really rewarding.
