SINGLE REVIEW: Ready To Live by COLE PHOENIX

World-renowned singer-songwriter Cole Phoenix has released her first single in two years. Ready To Live is an out-and-out contemporary pop smash with irresistible hooks, heart, and a galvanising, universal lyric. With three albums and a string of hit single releases behind her, Ready To Live reveals the breadth and depth of Cole’s multifaceted artistry, merging the autobiographical with a refined approach to songwriting, production, and performance. Attaining ‘winners’ circle’ status in the 2020 International Songwriting Competition, Ready To Live has already garnered accolades and praise at a global level. This latest success adds to Cole’s previous achievements, which include 2015 Nominated Best New Artist New Music Awards among chart-toppers Sam Smith, Charlie XCX, 2014 Single UFO reaching no. 1 on TOP 40 internet charts and in 2013 Shortlisted International Songwriting Competition for her anti-bullying anthem (Dance/Electronica). As Cole says about her new track, ‘Ready To Live was inspired by a life-changing event. The song is about focusing on values such as family, forging deep relationships and not superficial connections. It’s an empowering anthem, encouraging people to “drive” their own life – and not be steered by fear or fear of fitting in – life is “too fragile to waste” – so be bold, take charge of your life and be READY TO LIVE for it.’  The new track features Cole’s typically exuberant vocal performance augmented by a sleek electro-pop sound with dance elements in the chorus. From the opening synth line to the high-energy hooks throughout, Ready To Live contains all the hallmarks of a big song—the combination of a direct and relatable lyric with memorable melodic parts. Ready To Live is heightened awareness made bare and transformed into an exciting and memorable dose of dynamic indie pop and sure to catapult Cole Phoenix into the next stage of her extraordinary career.
