Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Get On Down”?
“Get On Down” is the next country song to take the world by storm. It’s has a uptempo beat that will make you move with the essence of country with the guitar and bass pattern. And last but not least there’s a line dance that goes with it. The instructions are in the second verse when you listen to the song.I guarantee after you listen to this jam you gonna put it on repeat just to dance.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
I was inspired by lil nas x to step out side of what people call normal and make a song outside of my typical genres like : Rap/Hip-Hop ,Pop, or Afrobeat. I said hell if he can do it , I’m a do it better. He has a undeniable hit song but he forgot one thing that would have set it in its on space which was a line dance to go wit it.
How was the filming process and experience behind the video?
The film process for the video was very easy shoutout to Ketch The Shooter and 12:34 Media for putting the great edits together and my good friends @heluvdri_ & @theeltrifiedhoney for coming out and supporting and modeling in my video and also The Wildcatter Saloon (located in Katy,Texas) who let me use their venue for my video.
How was the recording and writing process?
The recording and writing process was fairly easy thanks to my producer Wayne Berry(Big Bout It Production) and My friends/Mentors Keith Matthews (Skotfre Music) Markell Praider( Brick Layer Entertainment). Writing the song wasn’t to hard I put myself in to the mind frame I want people to dance and have fun when they hear my song but use words or a phrase that most country folks know and use. From there it came to me and I begin writing. After I was finished Keith hook me up with Wayne to get the production together and perfected . Markell Set up the studio time for me to record it properly. And Now we are here.
What role does Dequincy play in your music?
It plays a small role because I am a military kid. So I moved around a lot. So I have influence from all over the south in general.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yes I was have some more material coming. Im working on a remix with a hot country singer. Me and him are gonna jam out together to make some more dope country music.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
There’s no tentative release dates just yet but be on the lookout for the remix!
What else is happening next in Kyd’s world?
I will be going on tour starting Oct.1 -December the dates are still being locked in..Be on the lookout for the schedule which I will be posting on all my social media.
