Psyence are a 5-piece band from the working-class area of the Potteries, West Midlands – an area with rock heritage in abundance. Psyence has already received a warm welcome to the rock scene with the release of the first EP in 2017 and their debut self- titled album in 2019. With two new singles being released in 2020 which formed part of 2021’s ‘Reality or Design’ five track EP release, gaining a group of hardcore fans. Drums thud through the mix, reverberating energy around the mix and creating an irresistible groove. Guitars soaked in overdrive swirl melodies around each other, creating a distorted wall of noise, providing the perfect angry canvas for the track. Vocals are melodic and infectious, but raw, passionate and tinged with anger.
Psyence, reveals further: “This song is about mental health and having a daily battle with yourself, nobody will really ever understand what’s going on inside yer head apart from you. You’ve gone full circle so it’s time to break the cycle.”
Psyence will release their second album, ‘Lessons in Forgetting Everything (L.I.F.E)’ on 30th September 2022. It has been previewed via four single releases – ‘Domino’ (February), ‘So High’ (May), ‘Sugar Sweet’ (July) and new single ‘Nobody Understands.’ (September). We can’t wait to hear what it sounds like.
