CAii’s had to break down a fair few barriers to get to this point in her career. Having pursued a chemistry degree, she decided to take the plunge and follow her dreams, also overcoming issues with her stage fright. CAii’s is back with a new, sunshine soaked offering entitled “communicate.” A colourful canvas consists of synths and guitars that create a swirling pot of melodies. Crisp drums cut through the mix, creating an irresistible groove. Silky smooth vocals lie softly marrying well with well-penned lyrics.
Speaking further about this she tells us: “The message is that communication is key in relationships and to reach out to the people who love you when you feel trapped inside your own head. This track is for anyone who finds themselves trying to guess what their partner is thinking and a condemnation of the ‘strong silent type’ stereotype we often project in this country. Don’t bottle up your stresses and worries, talk them out and sharing it will lighten the load and make everyone happier and healthier.”
Recently CAii has branched out into promotion, starting her own live event in Manchester – Pop Tart Hangover Club. This has been one of the highlights of her career so far as the event is focused on genres outside the typical ‘Manchester sound’ such as pop, neo-soul and R&B and has enabled her to champion artists often overlooked in the city. Alongside this, 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year for her own project, with a new run of singles, a return to regular gigging & festivals. With releases such as ‘communicate.,’ her sound only continues to get more developed. Raw, relatable lyrics, catchy pop melodies, contemporary production and a fierce feminist undertone are the main components of this sound, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
