Celebrities and the Art of Cosmetic Surgery

The entertainment world has some unusual characteristics and likings that most people find absurd. However, the artists and celebrities in the entertainment industry have legions who follow them and hang on to every word they say and every action they take, making them massive social influencers. Jennifer Aniston’s, Katy Perry’s, and Kylie Jenner’s of the world are akin to holy deities to their followers. Others follow when they buy a particular product or get a procedure done.

The names mentioned haven’t ruined their bodies through plastic surgeries but made themselves more attractive and appealing, calling the procedures ‘enhancements’. It can be either a facelift, eyebrow lift, or even lip augmentation; these procedures become the highlight of a celebrity’s journey towards beauty. For instance, in 2019, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported that over 1.4 million liposuction surgeries were performed around the globe that year. Although cosmetic surgeries are expensive, and most insurance policies don’t include these services, they are still among the most sought-after and regularly performed surgeries worldwide.

One aspect to consider is that, like any other surgery, a cosmetic procedure should be precisely performed. However, unlike other procedures, a lack of judgment in a cosmetic procedure may incur irreparable damage. That’s why most cosmetic surgeons suggest not to take these procedures lightly. In fact, some cosmetic surgeons may have the qualifications to become one but may not have expertise in a specific niche. So, research is essential.

For instance, when talking about lip fillers, Dr. Caghan Baytekin, the cosmetic surgeon at Clinic Center, suggested that getting lip fillers isn’t plumping a pout. He believes that a surgeon must consider all aspects of a lip filler. There are also aftercare and health conditions before opting to take such a procedure. Further, it’s also necessary to know which kind of filler is preferable. “Lip fillers are natural-based injectables that add volume to your lips for a bigger and fuller pout,” says Dr. Baytekin. These natural-based injectables bind water to keep the skin hydrated and plump for long-term beauty.

There’s a good chance that each individual’s skin type differs. So, the procedure performed on them might be detrimental for the one trying to replicate it. Further, health conditions may also vary. For instance, Dr. Baytekin says that if a patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, they shouldn’t get a lip filler procedure. He also suggested that people with infections around their lips, like a cold sore, should wait until it’s appropriately healed before the process is done. So, it’s essential that even if one is trying to follow their role model, do consider their health conditions before becoming a blind follower.

Not only are these surgeries expensive, but keeping the results attractive for a long time has high maintenance cost. Looking at the gorgeous Jennifer Aniston, one would think she’s naturally blond, but that’s not true. She keeps her blond hair as natural as possible because she can afford aftercare treatment. Similar is the case for all kinds of cosmetic surgeries. However, a more straightforward procedure like a lip filler isn’t high-maintenance, but it is necessary to keep finances in check before heading out to a clinic.

Let’s not deny the fact that cosmetic surgeries are great if one wants to keep themselves attractive for a long time. After all, the procedure was made to maximize one’s beauty. All it needs is to keep the prerequisites in check and control post-op complications; the rest can be handled accordingly.
