If you know anything about the real estate industry in Houston, you may have heard of Lily Jang, a licensed, top-producing real estate agent known for going above and beyond to help her clients. Despite being in the top 1% of real estate agents in the area and working as a host and producer of House 2 Home on KPRC2+, she’s managed to make time to share a few secrets to success in the real estate industry. While some might find the sector cutthroat and a bit too challenging, Lily’s willingness to tackle situations head-on while keeping each client’s best interest in mind enabled her to excel.
“When my peers see how well I handle things, they often ask me how I managed to get it all done. I truly believe my success is a direct result of my actions. I remain dedicated to the industry, love learning more about it, and am committed to my clients. My clients know they can reach out to me with questions, concerns, or anything else they need help with, and I’ll be there. If you want to succeed in real estate, you have to put your clients first,” shares Lily Jang. “Of course, there’s more to it than just putting your clients first. Make sure you’re always learning. I feel like there’s always something new to learn about within this industry, and I love a teaching moment. My clients appreciate my extensive knowledge of the industry and how I use it to their advantage to help them with their real estate needs.”
In addition to prioritizing her clients and having extensive knowledge of the real estate industry, Lily Jang credits her success to her willingness to work hard through anything, even when obstacles get in the way. As a young girl who came to the United States from Saigon, Vietnam, while seeking a better life, hard work and determination were instilled in her at an early age. It’s why she excelled in her journalism career for 20+ years before making a shift and getting into real estate, where she continues to have tremendous success.
“For people who want to get into real estate but don’t know how to do it or where to start, I encourage you to go for it. Educate yourself, learn more about real estate laws and information, and get your license. Once you have your license, treat every client like you would want to be treated when you’re selling or buying a home. Make the experience special for your clients because that’s what makes you memorable and helps you get word-of-mouth referrals,” says Lily. “Many of the clients I’ve had over the years heard about me and my services from someone they trust. Word-of-mouth referrals are a big deal and can help you excel in your career. But, you can’t expect people to say positive things about you unless you’re actually putting forth the effort. If you love what you do for a living as I do, you’ll show up, remain consistent, and put 100% effort into each client.”
Success in the real estate industry may not be nearly as complicated as it sounds. Those interested in following in Lily Jang’s footsteps can learn more about the industry and what it entails by following her on Instagram.
