Interview: Frost G

Hey Frost G, how are you doing today?

I’m doing just fine thanks.

Tell us about your background getting to where you are today.

A Military brat born in Syracuse, NY & raised in Killeen, TX. I grew up loving hip-hop at an early age. Being born listening to NY hip-hop juggernauts like Nas, Ma$e, BIG, DMX, Lox, Talib Kweli, and Dipset, to name a few. To being raised on TX hip-hop juggernauts like DJ Screw, Lil Flip, chamillion, Lil Keke, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, and Trae Tha Truth to name a few. It became an inspiration for me to be able to have people relate to my testimonies & help people get over whatever situation they going through. Love became a passion & I just kept chasing & investing in myself till I made something off the talent God gave me.

How did you get into music?

Writing poems to females. Then I start putting my poems to beats, then putting life stories to beats & the reaction just fueled me to keep going.

When did you start music?

Started developing a love for hip-hop in middle school. Didn’t start taking it seriously till after my incarceration in 2013, been running ever since.

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

Taking care of my brother “2Crunk” a whole decade after he was shot & paralyzed before he passed. I valued the time I knew I had left with him, so I put my life on hold till he went to be with the Lord, & vowed to never stop & always progress in honor of him.

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

How to positively progress through life.

What does a day inside your shoes look like?

Workin, hustling, & creating content for people to love & learn by.

What is your greatest achievement as a musician?

When I brought Lil Scrappy & Slumm Prince to Killeen & had all the GDs across the nation too include Larry Hoover’s oldest son attend my event.

Tell us about any new music you have coming out. When is coming out? What is it about?

I stay dropping hits. Right now I gotta single & video out with Texas hip-hop legend/pioneer Lil Flip called “Texas Still Holdin” that’s going crazy right now.
