Austin-based artist, MIDDLESPOON, is the brainchild and passion project of lead vocalist Alexander Beatz. Today, MIDDLESPOON releases their newest single and video titled, “Crush On U.” The first single tells the familiar tale of a new summertime infatuation. Lyrically then visually set across the beach, the classroom and the high school football game, the song and video tell a classic school crush, young love story. “Crush On U” was mixed by Tony Hoffer (Fitz and The Tantrums, Beck, Chromeo, M83, Phoenix, and Foster the People) and mastered by Chris Gehringer of Sterling Sound (OneRepublic, Rosalia, Lil Nas X and Dua Lipa.)

MIDDLESPOON crafts a set of catchy, thoughtful pop songs with the swagger of hip-hop, the shimmer of electronic pop and the irresistible dance beat of disco. Their debut album “Brightside” catalyzes Alexander’s optimistic point of view and philosophies on love. “Pop with Purpose”, as he puts it. Each song on the record examines a type of love from Eros to Agape, Platonic to Familial. Even with the lofty concept, the songs are full of catchy hooks and slick production, ranging from the chops of Charlie Puth to the uptown bops of Bruno Mars.
