From a Farm Boy to Owning a Top Beauty Brand: The Story of AJ Asmar

What does being successful mean to you? We all have different definitions of success. To some, success is having a lot of wealth, the freedom of time, and even finances. To others like AJ Asmar, it is the ability to positively impact someone else’s life and make your wildest dreams a reality.

Despite the many obstacles, from lack of enough capital, self-doubt, and even competition, Asmar has built a top brand in the beauty industry. He has written his own success story, from an ordinary farm boy in Palestine to a successful entrepreneur who runs a eight-figure beauty brand. Asmar is now using his journey to make a difference in the world and inspire others. How did he do this? Here is his incredible rags-to-riches story.

According to the Palestinian-raised beauty expert and entrepreneur, he came to learn about the beauty and haircare industry at a young age. He then developed a deep interest in the field. At the time, Asmar was just 15 years old.

Asmar moved to the US after leaving his home in Palestine to look for greener pastures. He got a job in a family-owned beauty supply store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He worked there for 13+ years and was even promoted to a top position in the company.

By the time he was 25 years old, Asmar was the manager at Dream Hair and Beauty Supply, a position he held for three years until he was fired. While it was disorienting and affected him greatly, considering it was his main source of income, Asmar did not give up.

He went back to the drawing board and created an opportunity from the situation. Seeing that he was well acquainted with the beauty industry, Asmar leveraged his skills and experience, and, using his savings, he launched his beauty supply store.

Today, Asmar is the CEO and founder of the top beauty retail brand Hair Queen Beauty, a leading supplier of hair and beauty products in the US. Since it started in 2015, Hair Queen Beauty has grown significantly in the last few years, clocking millions of sales, enabling Asmar to expand his venture. Hair Queen Beauty has branches across the US, with stores in major southern states such as Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.

Asmar has also recently launched his second venture. He developed a lace glue application system for wigs known as Meltdown, which has become an instant hit, selling in over 500 retail stores. He says that with these products, he aims to give the public an easier way to secure their wigs as he represents all hair types.

From a farm boy to a top entrepreneur with over 7 beauty retail stores, Asmar has made his wildest dreams come true. He chose not to focus on the negatives when he lost his job, and unknowingly, he unlocked the door to success.
