Hello Taylor Fangmann! How are you doing? Such a privilege for us today to get to learn
more about you as an actress and your future endeavors. I’m doing so well! Thank you
so much for chatting with me.
- Since you have struggled through very challenging times in life to reach this stage of
your career, would you please tell us about your journey and what it has been like for
you?
Well with any career path it takes lots of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice but in the
end it is worth it. There are definitely times when you want to give up but God shows
me a sign to keep pushing through the storm and at the end there’s a rainbow. - As we know you were born in Ohio and spent your childhood in a small town, how do
you see moving from a little town to Los Angeles, what changes it brought up in your
overall personal development, how would you compare and contrast life before and
after moving to Los Angeles?
So when we first left Ohio I was pretty upset, I thought I would struggle making friends
and ever feeling “at home” anywhere else. Then we moved to LA and it has felt more
like home than anywhere else I’ve ever lived. I get to work chasing my dreams, I have an
incredible support system of family and friends and the beach is close by. - Taylor! Since you formally attended acting classes, tell us what was the point in your life
where you decided that you should become part of the entertainment and film industry
and how supportive your family was in this decision?
I would first like to start by saying my family has been ever so supportive of me and my
sisters wanting to do acting and I am ever so grateful for that. I first decided I wanted to
go into the Industry after the Radio Disney music awards when I saw all the actors on
my favorite shows at the time being able to celebrate and have fun. I told my parents
and they put me in my first acting class and I totally just fell in love with craft. - Taylor! Since you come from a military family, where life keeps on moving from place to
place, how did you handle this movement in achieving your goals? To what extent this
helped you come with your career in acting?
Well my dad is still in active duty in the army and since he’s a fantastic father, he still
moves from base to base and me, my sisters, and my mom live here in California so we
can still keep acting and be able to chase our wildest dreams. I am ever so grateful for
all the sacrifices my parents make for me and my sisters to be able to do what we love
the most. - You took all these disadvantages of movement positively, tell us about your experience
and learning from various people, cultures and places?
So as most people know I am from a small town of less than 1000 people in Ohio but
my dad is military so I have moved quite a bit and I’ve also been blessed with being able
to travel a lot. Growing up my mom has always taught me you love and except everyone
and respect their culture, so whenever I would travel I would look at how these people
lived and celebrated their lives differently than how we were back at home such as the
food they ate, the types of celebrations they would have, and the clothes they would
wear. Being able to see parts of the world at such a young age has definitely made me
love traveling and learning all different types of ways of life. - Okay Taylor! You actively campaign in awareness programs regarding Down syndrome
since your sister is affected by the disease, how do you view the importance of
inclusivity and generosity as you advocate Down Syndrome? Any message for your fans
or the general public?
I’m so glad you asked this! So Down syndrome isn’t really a disease, it’s a genetic
disorder. There is no cure, or medicine for it. There was nothing in particular that
caused her to gain the extra copy of her 21 st chromosome that makes her so awesome!
There’s a lot of misconceptions about Down syndrome and it’s my goal to change the
bad ones. My sister is such a blessing to our family and I think it’s so important for
people to see the fun and incredible uniqueness of people with Down syndrome instead
of the negative stigma it sometimes carries.

- Was there a specific movie that made you fall in love with acting and actively follow this
career path? Was there something that specifically triggered your decision to become
an actor?
Well watching movies didn’t really make me want to become an actor but then as I
thought about it more it really helped me fall in love with acting more because there are
so many movies we watch as a family. After a long day of my parents working when me
and my sister were at school we would all sit down after a family dinner and watch a
movie together. It is nice to know that maybe someday I can make someone or
someone’s family sit and share a good laugh together after a long day. My favorite
movie for family movie night is definitely “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”.
- Do you recall any influencer in the industry who inspired you most who you look to as a
role model?
An influencer in the industry who has inspired me and I look up to them as a role model
is my good friend Kennedy Jean who is defining the odds and stereotypes of Down
syndrome. - What do you feel is your biggest achievement so far in acting or in life in general?
I feel that my biggest achievement so far in acting is every time I’m on set I learn
something new and I’m able to take away a new experience each time. For that I’m very
grateful. Then something I feel is my biggest achievement in life is knowing to take
nothing for granted and to really live in the moment. - If you are asked to work with any famous actor/actress who would it be? How much
inspiration do you take from that person’s acting career?
If I could work with any famous actor or actress it would be Caterina Scorsone. She’s a
fantastic actress but also has used the platform she has earned to spread awareness on
Down syndrome with her daughter. I find that is an inspiration to me because I also
would love to be able to spread awareness to a lot of people with Down syndrome by
being able to do what I love the most, which is acting. - Can you please tell us what is your ideal role that you want to perform if given a
chance?
My ideal dream role would be a drama/comedy. The character would be popular and
perfect from what the world sees but she actually has a dark and hidden past which
makes her have trust issues. She basically lives in two different worlds.
- One last question, your future aspirations, where do you see yourself in your acting
career in times to come and what message would you like to share with your followers
and fans?
I hope to see myself still doing what I love and to keep spreading awareness on Down
syndrome with my sister’s love. I would love to tell my fans never be too scared to chase
your wildest dreams and always do it feels right In your heart.
