Hi Traphique! How are you?
I’m great! Just blessed and happy to be alive. I hope everybody else is feeling the same.
Where are you from?
Kuwait. For the people that don’t know, cause it still baffles me that people don’t, that’s a little country in the Middle East next to Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
What is your greatest inspiration for your music?
TBH my inspiration changes a lot. I am inspired by a lot of artists and a lot of different things that have happened to me and continue to happen in my life but the thing that inspires me the most is my baby girl, that’s who I really go hard for.
What are 3 words that describe your music?
Real, risky, unapologetic.
What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?
Depression. I have a song called “I hate you” where I’m talking to myself and telling myself how much I hate it. I basically tell myself that everybody hates me and that I should relapse and commit suicide. It’s pretty dark haha but it was how I was feeling at the time and while writing it was tough at first it ended up being really therapeutic for me.
What are the challenges of being an artist?
Where I’m from rappers and hip-hop artists in general aren’t taken that seriously. It’s extremely challenging being able to explain to people what I want to do and getting it out there and also trying to invest in myself both financially and mentally without having everyone in my life trying to talk me out of it. Especially when nowadays everybody is trying to get in this game and most of them aren’t that good it’s hard to convince people of what I’m doing and getting a chance. So I would say the most challenging thing is getting people to take you seriously and see you as different while also not letting all the naysayers and obstacles get to you, not letting the “no’s” and the losses get to you but learning from them and continuing to push.
Are you planning on releasing new music soon?
Of course! I have tons of new music on the way and I don’t plan on slowing down any time soon.
