MEAGHAN FARRELL ON TOUR, PERFORMING SINGLE “MY KITCHEN”

Muscle Shoals, Alabama —Meaghan Farrell is taking the single “My Kitchen” from her album Conversations with Myself on the road this summer and fall.

Farrell’s brand of emotionally sensitive singer-songwriter music will be on full display when her touring commences Aug. 12 in Indianapolis, IN and runs through Sept. 29. (See the list of tour dates below.) She will be performing in support of indie rock favorites Red Wanting Blue for the majority of the tour.

“Having this chance to tour the west coast with a band such as “Red Wanting Blue” presents an opportunity to continue to learn the art of touring AND have an absolute BLAST, all at the same time. Excited doesn’t even scratch the surface!” says Farrell.

“My Kitchen” takes the tragedy of heart-break and flips the despair to joy as the heart-broken individual chooses to visit Farrell’s kitchen for comfort. She recently recorded an acoustic rendition of “My Kitchen” in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with producer Patrick Tetreault, and mix engineer Craig Alvin.  Farrell uses country-folk style to convert the gloomy situation of a stripped-down, broken-hearted man to poppy energy. The album version of “My Kitchen” is available on all streaming platforms, and the acoustic version will be made available this fall.

“Our own songs have the ability to reveal so much about ourselves. And over time … maybe reveal something completely different then when you first wrote it. That’s how this new version of “My Kitchen” came to be! Born from a choice to try and sing it a little softer, out came this heartbreaking version that brought out a vulnerability I didn’t know the song had. Or did I?? People are complex and full of different feelings. Songs are an extension of those feelings,” says Farrell.

Farrell’s two years of writing and touring led her to a simple philosophy – the best version of yourself has always been there; it is often too noisy to hear that voice. Her trick is to quiet the world, quiet yourself until you can truly hear it. The clarity. The calm. The love.

From that silence comes her powerful new music, as Meaghan Farrell aspires to be heard for many years to come. One conversation at a time. One song at a time. Meaghan says, “Look into the deepest, darkest parts of yourself. Get uncomfortable. Accept it all with love, compassion and gratitude for where you’ve been. I believe from that place, your dreams start to become your reality.”
