The first season of Stranger Things birthed a phenomenon. How do you follow that up? Do TV shows have the proverbial sophomore slump? Sometimes they do. Did Stranger Things? When I went through the first season, every episode struck me as being good. Will I feel the same about the second season? It’s time to rank every episode of season two.

Yeah, I am one of those people who finds “The Lost Sister” to be a lackluster sidestep for the season and the show. It just falls flat, though it’s more middling to me than outright bad. All in all, this is the weakest season of the show. Now, it’s still good! Max was a nice addition to the crew. Halloween is an excellent milieu for Stranger Things. However, by and large the second season is a smidge of a step down.
That being said, the best episode of the season is the season finale. My top three is rounded out by the first two episodes of the season as well. Bookending a season of TV with your best episodes is always ideal, if possible. Things eased nicely into season three, which is next on the docket. Until then…
