Jeremiah Kingston, welcome to VENTS! Can you tell us about your debut EP, You’re Not Gonna Like This?
Thank you for having me. It took 4 years to make.
How did you decide on the title?
This question is hilarious because the literal reason is that I’m ‘venting’ about my life the entire time. Something that mainstream Hip-Hop isn’t a fan of.
We love the constant evolutions in sound and energy; can you tell us about the creative process?
2020 happened and I decided to go outside “the norm” as much as possible. Tapping into different genres that only me and close friends are into such as House, City Pop, etc.
Is there a lyric that means the most to you on the EP?
Fasho! It’s on track 2 “Birds”
“Validation isn’t Vital if the Vision is Victory, If I cared about opinions would’ve made myself history” is something to live by
How has your hometown influenced your style?
My dialect and delivery is definitely Charlotte based all the way through. No question.

Conversations with my peers.
